Russian, Czech firms sign deal to carry out Yamal railway project
Russian corporation Ural Promyshlenny–Ural Polyarny has signed an agreement with Czech construction company OHL ZS to jointly carry out the Northern Latitude Route railway project, RIA Novosti reported Thursday.
The agreement was signed during a visit by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to the Czech Republic. The Northern Latitude Route is a 707-kilometer long railway on the Yamal Peninsula.
Russia and the Czech Republic also signed agreements on the construction of the Kudepstinskaya power plant in Russia’s Krasnodar Region.
In addition, Russia’s Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation agreed on terms with the Czech Republic’s Interior Ministry to carry out an overhaul of several types of Russian-made helicopters currently used by the Czech Republic’s armed forces.
Furthermore, Russia and the Czech Republic agreed to cooperate in the social sphere, among others.
