[14.04.2005]According to the words of Russia‘s Industry and Energy Minister Viktor Khristenko, the Russian government projects the annual output of foreign-branded cars in Russia to increase to 1 million units by 2010. In 2004, 133,000 foreign-branded cars were produced in Russia. On April 1, Russia’s Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov signed a ruling to reduce or partially eliminate import customs duties on auto components used for assembly in Russia. The move was designed to encourage foreign auto makers to begin producing in Russia. |
