[20.04.2005] From May 1, Russia will lift a ban on imports of grains, crops and vegetables from Germany. Russia imposed the ban in November 2004 after a pest was found in several shipments from Germany and Denmark. A ban on imports of Dutch products was already lifted in February and April. This development occurred after Russia and the EU agreed last month on a unified health certificate for imports of EU crop products. Lifting the ban is expected to result in increased shipments of rye and malting barley from Denmark and Germany. |
