Gazprom to expand on French, Dutch, Belgian, Irish, German power mkts
Russia's natural gas monopoly Gazprom plans to expand its operations on the French, Dutch, Belgian, Irish and German electric power markets. Gazprom Deputy Chief Executive Alexander Ananenkov said Friday at a shareholder meeting.
Gazprom started selling power in the U.K. in 2006 and in Germany and France earlier this year. The gas giant also said last year and earlier this year that it was considering buying British power utility Scottish Power and stakes in European power plants.
