The World Bank could provide Ukraine with a loan of about $140 million to implement a project to develop municipal infrastructures, a spokesperson for the World Bank's office in Kyiv said.
The World Bank board of directors could discus this issue in the first half of 2007, the spokesperson said.
The project to develop municipal infrastructures envisions providing financial support to utility companies to replace old water pipes and pipe equipment, the spokesperson said.
The World Bank has approved loans totaling $4.6 billion for Ukraine since 1992, of which Ukraine has received $3.2 billion. |
