The railwaymen of Russia, Germany and China will work at the Transsib together.
This was announced by Vladimir YAKUNIN, the President of the Russian Railways (RRW) public corporation at the meeting Russia as a transport corridor between Europe and the Pacific Rim held in Irkutsk during the Fourth Baikal economic forum, the PR service of RRW reports.
“It is no secret that we possess unique geopolitical conditions, our prospects on transporting cargo between East and West are great. So the route from China to Europe is more than promising,” says Vladimir YAKUNIN. “To develop the Transsib transit potential we should turn to the market segment which requires speed in goods delivery, and to the goods-owners interested in the development of cooperating with railway.”
Vladimir YAKUNIN told also that the meeting of the European and Asian railways directors was held in Berlin on September 19. The result of the meeting was an agreement between the heads of Russian, German, and Chinese railways concerning joint development of containers transporting by the Transsiberian route and the foundation of a logistics company.
“For the first time in history three parties, the railwaymen of Russia, Germany, and China, agreed on joint development of the containers transporting by Transsib from China to Europe, and back,” the RRW head emphasized. “In the nearest time a working group will be organized responsible for the plan of joint actions in this direction.” |
