26-27 September 2006, "Lenexpo", St. Petersburg, Russia
The International Euro-Asian Transport Conferences and TRANSTEC Exhibitions traditionally held in St Petersburg (1998-2003) have become major events in terms of setting guidelines for transport on the continent. The subjects and concept of the forums are focused on the complex transport development and on the international transit via Russian segments of the international transport corridors (ITC) as a priority task of national transport policy and international transport integration.
The main target of the Conferences and Exhibitions - further development of the Euro-Asian land transit by optimizing the quality of transport services - is urgent for the members of the transport community. The Conference provides a site for the discussion of urgent present-day issues. The Exhibition and Conference venue facilitates strengthening business relations.
The main topics to be discussed at the Fourth International Euro-Asian Conferences on Transport and at the Exhibition include:
· Mechanisms of public / private partnership to implement major transport-transit and infrastructure investment projects in the field of transport based on the guidelines of the Transport Strategy of the Russian Federation for the period till 2020 · The Sea Doctrine of the Russian Federation and sub-programmes of transport and transit development. · Practical development of Russian segments of international transport corridors
· Correlation of transport constituents of the CIS within the framework of the common free market zone; · Attraction of cargo transit base and interaction with foreign and national cargo owners, especially in view of Russia’s intent to join the WTO and its possible consequences for the transport development.
