Before coming to Russia, it is wise to have comprehensive medical insurance including emergency evacuation coverage. Serious emergencies or procedures are best done outside of Russia. For minor emergencies and ailments, there are many pharmacies located throughout the city that stock over-the-counter drugs. There are also several good, western-trained and managed health care clinics in Moscow.
